Application of LTP300F

PTC Resettable Fuses

PTC Resettable Fuses are composed of polymer materials and conductive particles, etc., after special processing, conductive particles form a chain conductive path in the polymer material. In normal working condition, the fuse is in a low resistance state, allowing the current to pass smoothly. However, once an abnormal overcurrent occurs in the circuit, the heat generated by the large current will cause the polymer material to expand rapidly, cut off the conductive path composed of conductive particles, and make the fuse present a high resistance state, thereby preventing the current from continuing to flow. This change is reversible, when the power supply is cut off or the overcurrent disappears, the PTC resetable fuse can automatically restore to the low resistance state, without replacement, so it is widely used in the need for frequent protection and do not want to have a permanent break.
