Parity Generators and Checkers are important logic components used for data error detection in integrated circuits. The parity generator is responsible for calculating and attaching an additional check bit based on the logical value (0 or 1) of the data bit before data transmission, to ensure that the total number of 1s in the data is odd (odd check) or even (even check). This check bit is then transmitted with the data. The parity checker performs the opposite operation at the data receiving end, by recalculating the total number of 1s in the received data (including parity bits) and comparing it with the expected parity to detect whether errors have occurred during data transmission.
