The Kinetic KTB8370 Synchronous Buck Regulator is a 17V, 5A synchronous buck regulator that includes integrated high-side and low-side power FETs. The device operates over a wide input voltage range to support a variety of applications from regulated 5V and 12V rails and multi-cell batteries.

The KTB8370 incorporates Kinetics' proprietary advanced adaptive on-time (AOT) control for fast transient response and high output voltage accuracy. This control technique eliminates the external loop compensation network and allows the use of ceramic output capacitors without the need for ripple-generating circuits. These features make the overall solution size very small.

The device features an internal soft-start feature that limits inrush current during startup. The device includes comprehensive built-in protection features including input voltage UVLO, cycle-by-cycle peak current limit on the high side and valley current limit on the low side. The device features reverse current protection, short circuit protection, output overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown.

The Kinetic KTB8370 is housed in a RoHS and green compliant 20-bump 1.7mm x 2.0mm x 0.6mm wafer-level chip-scale WLCSP20 package.
