STM 32U5 series ultra-low power MCU STMicroelectronics
STM 32U5 series ultra-low power MCUs are advanced energy-saving microcontrollers. STMicroelectronics meets the most demanding power supply requirements for smart applications. These applications include wearable devices, personal medical equipment, life automation, and industrial sensors. The STM32U5 series microcontrollers have up to 2MB of flash memory (dual bank) memory and 786 KB of SRAM, bringing performance to a new level. STM32U5 is a large product portfolio containing 8 packages (from 48 to 169 pins) and supports an ambient temperature of up to 125°C.
Achieve best-in-class power consumption
Benchmark:
535 ULPMark-CP
149 ULPMark-PP
133000 SecureMark-TLS
LPBAM (Low Power Background Autonomous Mode) is an innovative autonomous power mode that saves power by enabling direct memory access (LPDMA low power direct memory access) and ensuring that peripherals continue to work, while most devices are in stop mode .
Embedded SMPS (switching power supply) step-down converter (optional)
Key performance indicators include:
110nA in shutdown mode
300nA standby mode
1.7µA in stop mode 3 with 16 KB SRAM
6.6 µA in stop mode 2 with 786 KB SRAM
As low as 19µA/MHz in active mode
Enhanced security STMicroelectronics
The STM32U5 series is based on the network security features of STM32L5 MCUs, and its Arm Cortex-M33 core combines Arm’s TrustZone® technology and ST specific security feature set
STMicroelectronics has introduced the most advanced innovations:

AES encryption and Public Key Accelerator (PKA) are now side-channel hardware resistant
Use a hardware unique key (HUK) to protect data storage
Active tamper detection. Internal monitoring can erase confidential data in the event of a disturbance attack, helping to meet the high requirements of the PCI Security Standards Committee (PCI SSC) for point-of-sale (POS) applications.
For PSA and SESIP (Internet of Things Platform Security Assessment Standard) Assurance Level 3
Integration, scale and performance
Application responsiveness:
Arm Cortex-M33 runs at 160MHz
New START accelerator: suitable for internal and external flash memory (8 KB instruction cache)
240 DMIPS and 651 CoreMark scores
Up to 0.5 MB of on-chip flash memory can provide longer cycle life, up to 100,000 read/write cycles to ensure reliable storage of user data.
Highly integrated and innovative: large memory with ECC on flash memory and SRAM, USB Type-C with power supply controller, CAN FD, 14-bit and 12-bit ADC, multi-function digital filter (MDF) and audio digital filter (ADF))
Large product portfolio: 8 package types (LQFP48, QFN48, LQFP64, WLCSP90, LQFP100, UFBGA132, LQFP144 and UFBGA169)
