Allegro Current Sensor IC Package Comparison
Allegro Current Sensor IC Package Comparison
When looking at current sensor products from Allegro MicroSystems, you may see a package code in the original part number. Take the ACS732KLATR-40AB-T as an example, "LA" is the package code, which stands for 16-pin SOICW. MA has high internal isolation. MC has the lowest internal conductor resistance.
A simple comparison of different package information is listed below.

There are three 16-pin SOIC packages provided by manufacturers. The package codes are LA, MA and MC. They are all called 16SOIC. The following is their difference.
LA has the highest sensitivity and the Hall element is closest to the conductor. The filler chip is on top of the chip closest to the lead frame.
MA has high internal isolation. Two layers of polyimide insulation and three layers of insulating adhesive.
MC has the lowest internal conductor resistance. Longer creepage distance for better working voltage.
