New A33230 sensor delivers high-efficiency performance in a tiny package
Manchester, NH, USA, a leader in sensing and power solutions for motion control and energy saving systems, introduces the new A33230 3D effect position sensor IC. The A33230 is the smallest 3D sine/cosine sensor on the market today, providing system designers with a cost-effective solution for automotive and industrial applications.
The A33230 sensor contains two discrete analog signal paths for high-speed performance, and the SOT23-W package size makes it ideal for situations where PCB space is at a premium. The IC can also be used as an angle sensor, provided the system includes an electronic control unit capable of performing CORDIC calculations on both outputs.
The A33230 sensor contains vertical and planar Hall-effect elements whose sensing axes are orthogonal to each other, providing 90° phase separation, which is essentially independent of pole pitch and air gap. It is pre-programmed to measure angles in any plane (XY, XZ, YZ) while providing independent sine and cosine outputs.
