Monolithic Power System (MPS) The MP5025C hot-swap protection device is designed to protect the output circuit from transients. These devices provide maximum load at the output, current limiting through a sense FET topology. The magnitude of the current limit is controlled by a low power resistor from ISET to ground. The MP5025C device provides protection features such as current limit, thermal shutdown, damaged MOSFET detection, overvoltage protection (OVP), and undervoltage protection (UVP). The devices operate over a 4.5V -16V input voltage range, ±3% current monitoring accuracy, -65°C-155°C storage temperature range, and 150°C junction temperature. Typical applications include hot swap, PC cards, disk drives, servers, networking and notebook computers.
