NXP Provides Highly Integrated Converged eSIM Solution for Xiaomi Redmi Note 10T
Shanghai, China – May 10, 2022 – NXP Semiconductors N.V. announced that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10T smartphone features NXP’s SN110 converged eSIM solution. The SN110 series is a highly integrated converged eSIM solution that provides GSMA certified eSIM functionality for consumer electronics for cellular connectivity, secure mobile bus ticketing, mobile payments with integrated NFC and embedded secure element and advanced features such as smart access control. The single-chip solution uses an ultra-small form factor design to minimize power consumption while making it easier for device makers like Xiaomi to subscribe to multiple mobile network operators (MNOs) SIM subscription services on the same device. The operator provides remote SIM configuration and remote over-the-air update services.

Converged eSIM solutions offer many advantages over traditional SIM cards, providing consumers with the ability to use multiple profiles on a single device, eliminating the need to carry multiple devices or switch SIM cards when traveling internationally. In addition, device manufacturers can more easily expand sales to countries or regions that use different mobile network operators.

The SN110 offers a high level of security availability, including CC EAL6+ security certification following the GSMA CC Protection Profile, GP and GSMA certification schemes. It has been tested against all major mobile network operators worldwide, ensuring compatibility and providing a seamless user experience for consumers, device manufacturers and mobile network operators.

The SN110 used in the Redmi Note 10T device also supports FeliCaTM, a local contactless protocol in Japan.
