STMicroelectronics L9908 Three-Phase Motor Gate Driver Unit (GDU) is designed to control brushless motors in automotive applications. The three half-bridge driver channels (HS/LS coupling) can be independently configured to drive different loads, and the STMicroelectronics L9908 can tolerate -14V--+95V offset on the motor pins. The pre-driver stage is controlled via 6 dedicated parallel inputs supporting 0%--100% duty cycle operation. This feature also supports the implementation of various motor control strategies.
STMicroelectronics L9908 integrates a voltage regulator, charge pump and bootstrap circuit and is suitable for use in passenger cars, commercial vehicles or hybrid vehicles. Ensure safe half-bridge operation with breakdown diagnostics, dead time, short-to-battery, short-to-ground and open-circuit load detection, and real-time phase voltage monitoring.
STMicroelectronics L9908 Automotive Three-Phase Motor GDU features three independent high-accuracy current monitor channels with SPI configurable input differential voltage ranges for ground-referenced current measurements. This includes 5V/3.3V output dynamic range compatibility. STMicroelectronics L9908 features external and internal power supplies, ground levels, and internal temperature diagnostics.

Features a 32-bit superframe SPI slave interface for up to 10MHz communication between STMicroelectronics L9908 and the uC. SPI communications are protected with 5-bit CRC, 1-bit frame counter, frame length check, and SPI configurable window watchdog.
