Texas Instruments LMR38010 Synchronous Buck Converter is designed to regulate over a wide input voltage range, minimizing the need for external surge suppression components. The LMR38010 operates during input voltage dips of 4.2V, with a duty cycle close to 100% if required. This operation makes the LMR38010 an excellent choice for wide-input industrial applications and MHEV/EV systems.

The TI LMR38010 buck converter utilizes precision enable to provide flexibility by allowing direct connection to wide input voltages or precise control of device startup and shutdown. With built-in filtering and delays, the power good flag accurately indicates system status without the need for an external monitor. These converters incorporate pseudorandom spread spectrum for minimal EMI. At the same time, the device can be configured to switch between 200kHz and 2.2MHz to avoid noise-sensitive frequency bands. Additionally, the LMR38010 can be frequency-selectable for improved efficiency at low operating frequencies, or a smaller solution size at high operating frequencies.

Built-in protection features on the LMR38010 include cycle-by-cycle current limit, hiccup mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown in case of excessive power dissipation.

The LMR38010 is available in an 8-pin, 4.89mm × 3.90mm HSOIC PowerPAD package.
